Stator Winding Test System

The Stator Winding Test System includes resistance, hipot, surge and rotation tests on a computer-based, fully automatic equipment designed to test motor stators in a production line environment.

Resistance test
-
4-Wire Kelvin connections are used to provide the best measurements for low resistances.
-
Resolutions from 0.1µΩ are available for very low resistance components.
-
Ambient temperature compensation is standard, optional non-contact infrared part temperature measurement is available.
Hipot test
-
Voltages ranges from 50 to 5000 volts, AC or DC.
-
Arc detection to sense breakdowns.
-
Capacitive current compensation to measure only the resistive portion of the current.
-
Ramped turn-on voltage to avoid high inrush currents.
Surge and Corona test
-
The surge or impulse test checks for insulation problems between turns and coils of the winding.
-
It can also detect other defects which change the inductance of a winding such as changes in material, damaged windings and reversed coils.
-
Different analysis methods to ensure test reliability: area, differential area, differential phase comparisons and Corona points count.
-
Each winding can be tested in both forward and reverse directions.
Fixturing
ALM offers a complete range of fixture options, from manual to fully automated systems. Standard fixtures include 4-Wire Kelvin clips and safety curtains, light or physical. Single or dual test stations are also available.
Software
- Windows operating system based.
- Automatic mode for fully automated testing.
- Database for Test Limits and Tests Results.
- Option for ALM 4.0 SCADA interface.
